Baroque Music: Tomorrow and Sunday at the Castle, the announcement of the winners “Principe Ruspoli” Competition: Time for Awards
VIGNANELLO – Tomorrow and the day after, Castello Ruspoli will host personalities and young talents from various nations of the world. It will be the fascinating fresco created by the international baroque music and musicological studies competition “Principe Francesco Maria Ruspoli”, organized by the “Santa Giacinta Marescotti” Study and Research Center, IX edition.
The competition includes two sections: singing and musicology. In the latter section, the winner has already been announced: twenty-nine-year-old Anna Giust, from Friuli, author of the essay “Nicolaj Petrovich and monsieur Hyvart: a case of international cooperation in the eighteenth-century Russian theater”. Special mention for the Calabrian Tiziana Affortunato for the essay “Between cantata and opera: export of Roman musical models to Paris and London in the mid-seventeenth century. The cases of Carlo Caprioli and Girolamo Pignani”.
These are the members of the jury for the section: Giorgio Monari, scientific director, Pontificia Universitas Gregoriana, Sapienza University of Rome; Dinko Fabris, president of the International Musicological Society, Piccinni Conservatory of Bari, University of Basilicata; Alvaro Torrente, Complutense University of Madrid; Klaus Pietschmann, Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz; Robert L. Kendrick, University of Chicago.
Next, the finalists for the Singing section: Candida Guida (Campania), Valeria La Grotta (Puglia), Dalma Krajnyak (Hungary), Enrico Torre (Sicily), Pavla Flamova (Czech Republic), Ludmilla Freitas Thompson (Brazil); the jury: Antonio Florio, president, composer, conductor, musicologist; Laurence Cummings, English, conductor, harpsichordist; Gemma Bertagnolli, University of the Arts Bremen; Furio Zanasi, Conservatory of L’Aquila; Juan Angel Vela del Campo, music critic. Silvestro Fochetti, president of the Study Center, and Donna Giada Ruspoli, honorary vice-president, are confident in a rewarding outcome of the competition.
The program: tomorrow, final rehearsal of the Singing section; 2:15 pm, greetings and presentation; 2:30 pm, rehearsals of the finalists; 8:30 pm, announcement of the winner; 9:00 pm, dinner in a typical local restaurant; Sunday, 12:30 pm, welcome aperitif; 3:00 pm, greetings and introduction; 3:30 pm, award ceremony for the competition winners; 4:00 pm, concert by the winner of the Singing section.
