The 2013 edition is composed of two sections
Singing Section
-Participation fee: €50.00;
-Eliminatory round with audio or audio/video recording of own performances by July 31, 2013;
-Final round: live performance at the Castle on October 5, 2013;
-The program includes pieces of choice, voice solo and harpsichord basso continuo (details in the notice)
-Compulsory pieces for the final round: G. L. Lulier (the original manuscript reproduction will be available to the finalists) and a piece of choice by G.F. Händel
Musicology Section
-Participation fee: €50.00;
-Musicological essay on “Music in Europe from the 16th to the 18th century: patronage, production, and reception” of 20 to 120 pages in Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, or Portuguese, to be submitted by July 31, 2013.
The winner of the Singing Section will receive a prize consisting of a check for €2,000.00 (two thousand euros) which will be delivered on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Ruspoli Castle in Vignanello. The winner will then perform as a soloist in a final concert.
The competition offers the winning author of the Musicology Section and, possibly, also other authors of particularly interesting papers, the publication in a volume of the series Miscellanea Ruspoli published by LIM Libreria Musicale Italiana and five free copies of the same.
Exclusively to the winner will also be offered a monetary award of €500.00.
